SPECIAL THANKS. I would like to thank Paul Watson for his sponsorship of several lead figure collections on this blog. Having decided to clear his spare/surplus figures, he generously forwarded them on with no other requirement than they deserved to be restored. I would also like to mention George S. Mills, who kindly furnished a quantity of plastic figures which allowed me to complete another five or six military units, serving in several collections.

CHINESE NATIONALIST ARTILLERY 1930s

Just completed today an artillery crew for my 1930s Chinese army. Two of the figures were broken W. Britains German mortar crew, the other was a broken Airfix infantryman. Perhaps not perfect for historical accuracy but I think they will serve the purpose.

  2. Beautiful conversions Michael! Your attention to detail is top-notch! Are the bases later version Deetail? Very well done as usual!

    1. Hi Brad, have occasionally picked up Deetail figures that are too far gone to repair, including medievals. Rather than keeping them, just kept the bases. Mustered three such bases, sanded, primed, and then painted. Used the slots to take the plugs and carved out two for the Airfix convert, superglued, nice and secure. Wont bother texturing these, but I might varnish them for added protection.
