SPECIAL THANKS. I would like to thank Paul Watson for his sponsorship of several lead figure collections on this blog. Having decided to clear his spare/surplus figures, he generously forwarded them on with no other requirement than they deserved to be restored. I would also like to mention George S. Mills, who kindly furnished a quantity of plastic figures which allowed me to complete another five or six military units, serving in several collections.

NAVAL CONTINGENT READY FOR DUTY

Pleased to report twelve more figures completed today. Thats the Naval contingent ready and operational. The kind reinforcements sent by Paul Watson have been repaired, painted, varnished, and integrated. I can now field three distinct companies to man coastal or field guns (or naval vessels). While the Royal Navy Landing Party has three firing sections (9+ figures).  I particularly liked the three Timpo castings, so replacing their broken rifle barrels was very satisfying.

  1. Splendidly jaunty! You can almost hear the Hearts of Oak and sea shanties being sung ...

    1. Hi Mark, for me it makes the Empire armed forces all the more interesting. A blue uniformed section, with the potential of amphibious scenarios.

    1. Mark, had seen this film several years ago on a forum, but had totally forgotten about it, but you are so right, the collection is uncannily similar to the film. Great comment.

    1. Thanks Allan, they will certainly be active, a RN fleet is operating out of Halifax, Nova Scotia, I suspect its likely to steam south very shortly.

  4. Those are fantastic - absolutely superb :) It's like Christmas coming early and opening those red shiny boxes for the first time to see the shiny figures inside. Amazing painting - I can't wait to see them in action as well :) Well done.

  6. Great Naval party! Now you need one of those low profile 12 pdr landing party guns. Nice to dee them in action as well as the 4.7"ers on purpose built carriages, like the Britain;s one.

(dangerous video clip though, I had to try hard to forget it the first time I saw it....)

    1. Hi Ross, the sennet crew will likely be manning either a green 4.7", or my converted grey emplaced 4.7".gun. Can confirm this brigade will be participating in the Dominion Campaign. Yes, Mark was well right to remind us of the Clacton film of 1904. (Can't get it out of my head, many of those fellows would still have been in the services ten years later.)
