Have taken some time off maintaining fruit bushes to work on on my second battalion of French legionnaires. This has been a nice project. The recently acquired five recruits were all needing some repair work, and one was particularly hit with plastic oxidisation. The latter has received milliput/steel rod legs, and replacement arms. It now serves with the transport. Well, I still need one more figure to complete the battalion to twelve.
That legionnaire bugler and spare horse, picked up at the Exeter show, are also ready for service.
They all look fantastic MGB, especially the wagon
ReplyDeleteCheers MJT, I used some of my sewing skills to provide a canopy, lol.

Love the Spahi
ReplyDeleteThanks Tony, no plans to raise rifle armed Arabs, so this was a useful alternative.

You have created an excellent Legion battalion Michael! The red pants really stand out, the standard bearer and bugler are so unique! The wagon and driver are a perfect accompaniment to the unit! The Spahi is such a dramatic pose! All very well done indeed!
ReplyDeleteThank you Brad, the colours have come out nice, and all very French. I am pleased to have saved the oxidised figure, twice I put it in the bin. It is now a useful addition.

That spahi is fantastic! Is the bugler a Deetail figure?
ReplyDeleteJohn, that mounted bugler is quite old, it could be a Charbens? The only Deetail figure is the wagon-rider, kindly sent by Alan Gruber. The Spahi is a Lone Star like the Legionnaire ensign. The bugler on foot is a Britains lead casting kindly given by Paul Watson.

Those rather bland Timpo Legionnaires never looked better!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sir, most kind. It's the bold colours that have given them lift.
